Legend. LV thrombus detection by CMR. Images showing discordant findings by delayedenhancement (DE) and cine-CMR. DE-CMR demonstrates a large mural thrombus adherent to a LV inferior wall aneurysm (middle), whereas cine-CMR shows no evidence of thrombus (left, midventricular short-axis views). Thrombus was verified by pathology (right). Images demonstrate that thrombus may have an etched appearance with black border on standard inversion time (TI) but be homogeneously black on long-TI DE-CMR. See page 151.
