These molecules (brown) are located in interstitial and perivascular fibrosis (arrows), and in cardiomyocytes (arrowheads). PCP enzyme is responsible for extracellular generation of collagen type I, which is decreased by torasemide treatment (not shown), suggesting PCP to be a new target for antifibrotic strategies in HF.
