  • View Accompanying Video One - Relationship of the extent of myocardial fibrosis and left ventricular function - Top row shows a patient with small area of myocardial fibrosis by MRI (left, 8.2% of LV mass) and preserved left ventricular function by cine MRI (right, LV ejection fraction of 65.5%). Bottom row shows a patient with large area of myocardial fibrosis by MRI (left,23.8% of LV mass) and severe LV dysfunction by cine MRI (right, LV ejection fraction of 19.2%).
  • View Accompnaying Video Two - Example of a VT group patient with myocardial fibrosis by MRI (bottom row, left and middle column) and normal coronary arteries by angiography (top row, left and middle column). Typically, we observed myocardial fibrosis on apical (LV long axis MDE) and inferolateral (LV short axis MDE) segments. Note also the apical aneurysm in the LV by ventriculogram (top row, right) and by cine-MRI (bottom row, right), a classical Chagas' disease finding, the vorticilar aneurysm.
