The staining shows strong expression of placental growth factor protein in the endothelium within the infarct region (B), as well as in interstitial cells (C). The staining shows an absence of placental growth factor protein in the non-infarct area (D). Arrows indicate vascular tissue, arrowheads interstitial cells.
