Figure 2 From the National Institutes of Health-National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute Women’s Ischemia Syndrome Evaluation (WISE) study, event-free survival by metabolic status was recently reported in women. These results reveal that women with the metabolic syndrome are at intermediate risk for major adverse cardiac events (MACE) (death, non-fatal myocardial infarction, stroke, or congestive heart failure).
