Figure 4 (Top) Plasma tissue inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase (TIMP)-1 levels did not change immediately following alcohol injection, but tended to rise at later time points; however, this did not reach statistical significance (p = 0.15). (Bottom) The ratio of plasma matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-9/TIMP-1 levels was computed for each patient and plotted as a change from baseline values.
