In the overall population of 36 patients, there was a significant correlation between the baseline levels of CRP and SAA and the respective increases after MI (r = 0.55, 95% CI 0.27–0.75 and r = 0.65, 95% CI 0.40–0.82, respectively; all p < 0.001).
