The experimental setup comprised a 90-min occlusion period followed by thrombolysis with recombinant tissue plasminogen activator, alteplase (bolus and 30-min infusion) and co-therapy with aspirin (bolus) and heparin (bolus and 2-h infusion). Contrast media (CM) or placebo were administered intracoronary, starting 20 min before thrombolysis. The events identified by strip chart analysis (occlusion, reperfusion, peak hyperemic flow and cyclic flow) were used for the calculation of time parameters.
