The primary end point is a composite of death, myocardial infarction, unstable angina requiring hospitalization, urgent revascularization after 30 days, or stroke. The triple composite end point is death, myocardial infarction, or rehospitalization with acute coronary syndrome. The benefit of atorvastatin 80 mg compared with pravastatin 40 mg is already statistically significant for the triple composite end point by 30 days and remains so during the entire follow-up.
