Figure 1 Left ventricular mass (LVM) corrected for height plotted against age in 55 patients. There are two benchmark lines included: one at 47 g/m2.7, indicating the normal limits of LVM. Above 38.2 years of age, 25 of 28 (89.3%) patients had an increased LVM, as did 25 of 25 (100%) patients above 45 years of age. Below 38 years of age, 12 of 27 (44.4%) patients had a normal LVM.
