(B) Axial electron beam tomography (EBT) images of the LA obtained before (pre) and after (post) the pulmonary vein (PV) ablation. The broken lines indicate the extent and the thickness of the LA edema on the right side of the LA posterior wall (arrow) where they were measured. (C) An axial EBT image of the LA at the slice just below the left inferior PV. At this level, the maximum width and length of the LA were measured. LIPV = left inferior pulmonary vein; RIPV = right inferior pulmonary vein.
