(A) Gene expression examined by reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction shows that DHEA at physiologic concentrations upregulates the lipoprotein-processing genes acyl coenzyme A:cholesterol acyltransferase I (ACAT) and lysosomal acid lipase (LAL).
