Figure 3 Representative Western blots show relative amounts of mitochondrial ANT and ß-F1-ATPase in left ventricular myocardium in three different states (N, F, and R). Each lane represents a different heart. Substantial decreases in both mitochondrial proteins occur with heart failure (F). 43 kD protein band serves as a marker. The same amount of total protein (100 µg) was run in parallel lanes on a SDS gel for standardization purpose. ANT = adenine nucleotide translocator; F = heart with postinfarction left ventricular failure; N = normal heart; R = heart with postinfarction left ventricular remodeling.
